THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA – PLAY DAY AT THE SAENGER THEATRE!

DATE & LOCATION

Mar 05, 2026, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM

New Orleans, New Orleans, LA, USA

ABOUT THE TRIP

Our Vintage Travelers will kick start spring in style, as we head to the beautiful Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, to enjoy Broadway Across America with reserved Orchestra seats for the smash hit musical, The Phantom of the Opera! We will depart from the St. Dominic Toulouse Building parking lot in Jackson at 7:00AM this morning.

As we make our way down to the Crescent City, we will break for an early lunch just outside of the city. Our group will enjoy a delicious New Orleans themed lunch with all of your Cajun favorites – such as Mardi Gras Pasta with shrimp, fried catfish filets, chicken & sausage Jambalaya, delicious side items and homemade bread pudding for dessert, served with iced tea or soft drinks, all included in our tour today!

After lunch, we will continue to downtown New Orleans and Canal Street, where we have reserved Orchestra seating at the beautiful Saenger Theatre, which has been thrilling audiences since 1927! This afternoon, we will enjoy the 1:00PM Matinee performance! The Phantom of the Opera is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, playing to over 160 million people in 47 territories and 195 cities in 21 languages. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes “The Music of the Night,” “All I Ask of You,” “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again,” “Masquerade,” and the iconic title song. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as ‘The Phantom’ who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine’s love for Raoul, The Phantom’s obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness, and passions collide. It’s a performance you will always remember!

After our show concludes, we will load our bus and depart New Orleans for our return trip to Jackson. We will make a snack stop en route, near McComb, and arrive back in Jackson by 8:30PM to end our memorable day.
